What Does the Report Status mean?

There are three identifiable status reports.

  1. Case under Investigation
This will define all New reported crimes which are subject to investigation or assigned.

  2. Investigation Pending Outcome
When an investigation is to be completed the Police go through a process of ensuring that we meet all the needs of the victim, namely the victim code and due legal process. This could mean that it is pending filing or subject to a review by a local crime registrar, appropriate specialist department or line manager.

  3. Investigation Closed
This shows that the crime has been filed. This does not mean that the case may not be reopened, as all cases of crime can and are revisited if necessary.
