Thursday 18 April 2024 Tobias Berry, who was previously the subject of a missing person appeal has been found safe and well. Thank you to all those who shared the appeal and assisted with enquiries to locate him. 
The Wakefield District Anti-social Behaviour Review process allows repeat victims of anti-social behaviour (ASB) to have a greater say in how their complaints are handled - allowing those who have made three separate complaints about anti-social behaviour in the last six months to have their cases reviewed.

Tuesday 16 May 2023 A Wakefield man has been jailed for a total of 16 years after being found guilty of rape in a trial at Leeds Crown Court.  Steven Wood, 43 of Linton Road, Wakefield was sentenced yesterday (15/5) following the conviction of two offences of rape both receiving eight years, to run concurrently. 
Saturday August 12, 2023 A man from Wakefield has been jailed for five years for child sex offences.  
Tuesday 13 September, 2022 A Wakefield man has been jailed for more than six years for historic child sex offences against two victims.
Sunday 8 October 2023 At 11.23 this morning officers were called to the River Aire at Swillington just off Wakefield Road to reports a body was in the water.   An adult male was recovered from the water.
