Aadil Mahboob

Two men have been jailed after a firearms discharge in Girlington last year.

The incident relates to a vehicle that had been shot at on Blythe Avenue on 25 September.

No one was injured but the damage to the victim’s vehicle was found to be consistent with a firearms discharge.

Aadil Mahboob, aged 30, of Chellow Dene View and Qaasim Deen, aged 27, of Fagley Terrace were both found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. The jury found them both not guilty of attempted murder.

Today (5 September) Mahboob was sentenced to a custodial sentence of 13 years and three months. Deen was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell of Bradford CID said:

Qaasim Deen

“We welcome the sentence handed down today to Mahboob and Deen, this was a targeted attack, luckily no one was injured but the consequences could have easily been much worse.

“The use of firearms on our streets will not be tolerated and we will seek to find those responsible and prosecute.

“Any offences involving weapons or guns will be taken extremely seriously by the Police.”
