Partial Closure to Helpdesk Facilities

Thursday 2nd April 2020

West Yorkshire Police Help Desks at Leeds Central, Northgate Wakefield, Pontefract and Todmorden have now closed until further notice due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak.

There are still changes in place to the opening hours of the remaining Help Desk facilities, which are accessible between 8:00am and 6:00pm each day, including weekends.

The only exceptions are during the Bank Holidays when they will open between 10:00am and 6:00pm at the District Headquarters at Trafalgar House in Bradford, Elland Road in Leeds, Richmond Way in Halifax, Havertop Lane in Normanton and Castlegate in Huddersfield.

Force Helpdesk Manager Dave Peach said:

“We are continually managing and adapting our approach in response to the Coronavirus outbreak, which means consolidating some of our resources to ensure that we can sustain a service to the public.

“That means closing some of those Help Desk facilities that were running part time hours and diverting focus to larger stations across each of our Policing Districts.

“It is imperative that if you do attend the Help Desks, you adhere to the 2 metre social distance rule and only attend if absolutely necessary to ensure your safety and that of our staff.

“There are many other methods to contact the Police, which can be done from the safety of your own home, whether that be by telephone, Live Chat or online reporting.”
