Man Jailed For Rape of Woman

A man has been jailed for nine years after he raped a woman in Huddersfield.
Mohammed Sarwar was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, 18 October, after he was convicted of the offence, which occurred at an address in the town in November 2020.
He was also made subject of the Sex Offenders’ Register.
He was arrested and charged following an investigation by the Kirklees District Safeguarding Team.
Sarwar, aged 33, of Moorbottom Road in Thornton Lodge, Huddersfield, was also sentenced for assaulting an emergency worker in relation to an incident which occurred in October 2020.
