Appeal for Information Following Serious Assault, Halifax

Sunday 29 August 2021 

Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in Halifax city centre.

The incident occurred between 1.30-2am on Saturday 21 August, on Commercial Street when the victim was getting in a taxi.

An unknown male approached the taxi, opened the door, and assaulted the victim and then fled the scene. 

The victim, a 20-year-old male suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital. 

The victim received multiple stitches as a result of his injuries.

The suspect has been described as white male, 5ft10, slim build, thought to be in his late twenties, wearing a smart grey jumper.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident at the time and date stated above or anyone that may have information that will assist with enquiries.
