Appeal Following Armed Robbery, Leeds

Police in Leeds are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a betting shop. 

The incident occurred place at around 7.38pm when it is reported that two men, believed to be each armed with a hammer entered Coral Racing in Austhorpe Road through the rear of the shop on Saturday (7 August 2021).

The men are reported to have pushed a member of staff, before taking money from the till and fleeing in a Silver Vauxhall Astra car.

The staff member was unharmed but is understandably shaken by the incident. 

Two men, a 42-year-old man and a 48-year-old man have been arrested and released pending further investigation.

Leeds District CID are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen a Silver Vauxhall Astra prior to the incident or shortly after, in particular on Manston Cres-cent at around 7.30pm, to contact 101 quoting crime reference number 13210399742.
