•    Anti-social behaviour around the Crofton / Ryhill area. We will increase high visibility patrols in the Crofton & Ryhill areas focusing on locations identified by local community groups, residents and Councillors, to disrupt and engage with youths. Working in partnership with WMDC ASB Officers and our own Early Intervention Team, to identify individuals and encourage / prevent youths from returning to this area. We will work with partners to identify a more suitable area / location for them to attend.

We have conducted partnership work with other police teams and external agencies. Working closely with WMDC ASB Officers, we have issued Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) to those youths that are identified as committing anti-social behaviour. Rural NPT will continue to take positive action against ASB offenders utilising available educational / rehabilitation programmes, including community work, to help educate and put youth offenders back on the right track without criminalising them. Rural NPT officers have created some good relationships with the local Youth Club and the young people that attend these facilities, breaking down barriers, by humanising their local neighbourhood ward officers and helping to move young people from criminality and anti-social behaviour.

•    Anti-social vehicle use and speeding in the Ryhill and Notton areas. We understand the impact of anti-social vehicles. Rural NPT will increase patrols in the area and run speeding operations at these locations. We will utilise our colleagues to support us in this endeavour working with the Wakefield District Off-Road Bike team, who take positive action against offenders where appropriate and evidence allows. We continue to conduct traffic operations, targeting areas identified by the local community, residents, and Councillors. These operations are designed to target road users travelling at excessive speeds utilising the pro-laser speed gun and Smiley SID whilst at the same time targeting drink/ drug drivers. These operations will continue over the coming months and the results will be published on Facebook and Community Alert.

•    Burglaries and acquisitive crime increase. There has been an increase in acquisitive crimes and burglaries targeting local villages within the Ward area.

Rural NPT have initiated several operations utilising both plain clothed and uniformed officers to identify and stop offenders, helping make our communities safe, just and inclusive. We are attending all victims of residential burglaries and providing them with support, crime prevention advice as well as giving them the opportunity to accept and register with Smartwater. We are also visiting neighbouring properties to deliver similar advice and property marking equipment.
