Neighbourhood Priorities

Ward Area : Clayton, Fairweather Green and Lower Grange


Lead Area Sergeant: PS 4794 Imeson

1. To address issues in Victoria Park, Clayton where there have been recent fires and general anti-social behaviour, Keep Victoria park free from anti-social behaviour and underage drinking. Police Officers and PCSO’s will patrol these areas frequently and challenge any anti-social behaviour, placing those responsible on ASB sanctions. The park is for everyone to use and feel safe doing so. 
 
2. Deal with off road bikes being used in public places and on the roads of Clayton, work is ongoing with partner agencies to address the anti-social behaviour, Motorbikes will be seized and those who ride them illegally will be dealt with under S.59 (anti-social use of vehicles) and relevant road traffic legislation. 

  • Detect and deter acquisitive crime such as burglary, theft from motor vehicles and shed break ins. Reports will be thoroughly investigated and those found to be responsible will be located and arrested. Proactive, overt, and covert officers will be deployed in the area.  
  • Target organised drug dealing and associated criminality in the area.

 

Ward Area :Thornton & Allerton

  • Detect and deter acquisitive crime such as burglary, theft from motor vehicles and shed break ins. Reports will be thoroughly investigated and those found to be responsible will be located and arrested.

Ward Area : Manningham

  • Address and deal positively with anti-social behaviour in Lister Park/Cartwright Hall. Raised by members of the public visiting the park and staff working within the park. Working with partners to identify and deal positively with offenders.

Cartwright Hall Update 01/04/2022 – After working closely with partner agencies we have reduced anti-social behaviour calls for service and set up a contact point (every third Saturday - next couple 2nd and 23rd April 2022 10am-12pm) within Cartwright Hall to maintain our community links and visibility, we will continue to actively patrol the area and deal positively with anti-social behaviour. 

  • To disrupt and engage with nuisance youths in the Sedgwick Close area, particularly targeting Misuse of Drugs offences and Anti-Social Behaviour. We plan to deal with this issue by increasing high visibility patrols in the area, utilising anti-social behaviour legislation if required to prevent offenders from returning to the location.

Sedgwick Close Update 01/04/2022 – Proactive patrols from the Neighbourhood Policing ward officers and internal partners have resulted in reducing the issues in the area with some ongoing prosecutions progressing through the criminal justice system.

 


Ward Area :Toller

1. Address concerns raised regarding standards of driving within the ward area, as raised at community meetings through: 

  • Police monitoring and enforcement. 
  • Partnership working with local authority regarding parking concerns on Duckworth Lane and surrounding streets aiming for sustainable solution. 
  • Casualty reduction partnership regarding mobile speed camera patrols. 
  • Working with local schools regarding education campaign for students and parents.

2. Work with the Community and Partners to tackle drug dealing and ASB in lower Girlington and Scotchman Road areas (as raised by residents and businesses).  

 
Ward Area Heaton:

Lead Area Problem Solving Officer: PC 3135 Driver / PC 3249 Dougall 

1.    Work with the local Community and Partners, acting on intelligence to address and deal positively with ASB and street level drug dealing in and around Haworth Road.  
2.    Address concerns raised in relation to the standards of driving throughout the Ward area by:  

  •  Police monitoring and enforcement. 
  •  Partnership working with local authority regarding School parking concerns on Haworth Road, Bingley Road and surrounding streets aiming for sustainable solution. 
  • Casualty reduction partnership regarding mobile speed camera patrols. 
  • Working with local schools regarding education campaign for students and parents. 
     

 

Ward Area : Outer City 

Lead Area Sergeant: PS 6842 Marks
Lead Area Problem Solving Officer: PC 3938 Stell & PC 1371 Sykes

  • Address ongoing Anti-Social Behaviour by a large group of youths in the Green Lane area. The group are targeting local properties causing criminal damage and arson, working with partners and elected members to help the local community take ownership of their area to combat the issues. Identified suspects to be dealt with positively and put through the ASB intervention process.

Green Lane Update (01/04/2022)  – NPT have been working with partner agencies as such calls for service have been reduced in the Green Lane area, a contact point (every third Saturday - next one Saturday 23rd April 2022) has been set up locally within the Khidmat Centre and we continue to work closely with Councillors and partners responding and dealing positively with any anti-social behaviour. 

  • Target residents’ concerns around Anti-Social Behaviour around the Ingleby Road fast food area and associated driving offences. Working with local businesses and elected members to prevent offences and ensure any identified offences are dealt with positively.

Ingleby Road Update (01/04/2022) – NPT have worked closely with partner agencies such as DVLA, Council, operation Steerside and the local businesses calls for service have been reduced in this area, a successful operation at the back end of 2021 resulted in numerous prosecutions for traffic related matters

  • Address the ongoing Anti-Social Behaviour on Pemberton Drive. Residents have raised concerns in relation to the misuse of drugs and alcohol, littering, parking issues and general Anti-Social Behaviour in the locality. Working with partners, elected members and local housing providers to create a joined up working strategy to combat the issues.

Pemberton Drive Update (01/04/2022) – We have worked closely with the local community, Councillors and housing providers in this area, work is still ongoing to tackle issues in the area.
