35 years of Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch 35 Years Anniversary

Celebrating 35 years of Neighbourhood Watch within West Yorkshire

Monday 13th June 2020 saw the celebration of Neighbourhood Watch becoming a part of communities throughout West Yorkshire.

We had planned to celebrate in style with an event designed to say thank you to our hard working Neighbourhood Watch Volunteers, at our Carr Gate Training Centre, but unfortunately due to lock down restrictions at the time this was not able to go ahead.

Instead we contacted our Neighbourhood Watch members weekly to support them through the lockdown periods, we also sent out thank you cards to all of the Local Scheme Co-ordinators to commemorate the 35 year achievement.

On Monday 13th we posted a number of social media posts to mark the occasion, and also updated the website as we released a special edition newsletter (available below). The newsletter featured lots of photos of how things looked back in the 80's when Neighbourhood Watch came to the UK and through to West Yorkshire to present day.

Please watch our video below, and encourage others to consider joining Neighbourhood Watch and to give a little TLC to their communities. You can also see the video on our Facebook and Twitter sites where you can like, comment and share the video.
