This webpage tells you all about the current campaigns we have running and the national campaigns we support to raise awareness around online safety.
1. Block the Web Monsters
The Block the Web Monsters campaign has been created with the prime aim of making the public aware of the dangers existing in the online world.
West Yorkshire Police has teamed up with the NSPCC, Leeds Safeguarding Children Partnership and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner in West Yorkshire to encourage parents and carers to have a five minute chat with children to keep them safe online.
3. Indecent Images of Children Campaign
Looking at indecent images of children is a crime. Anyone who is caught looking at indecent images of someone under the age of 18 years-old will be placed on the sex offenders register
4. Who are you really talking to?
Some people use social media to make contact with children and young people with the intention of “grooming” them.
5. Sexting - Think before you send
If you share an image of yourself online by photo, text or video, via your phone, tablet or computer always think first, “would I be ok with anyone and everyone seeing this?”
6. Take Five - To Stop Fraud
Take Five is a national campaign offering straight-forward, impartial advice that helps prevent email, phone-based and online fraud – particularly where criminals impersonate trusted organisations.
